Make sure you check it out!

  • September 4 & 7

Monday is Labor Day, so we will not be meeting this week.  We'll be ramping up next week with regular Youth Group.

  • September 11 & 14

This is our first regular week of Youth Group! This week’s discussion will be on New Beginnings. As School is back in session, and so many things are different, we’re going to see what the Bible has to say about starting fresh.

You will all need to dress appropriately for being outside and bring a flashlight and $6 for the maze.

  • October 23 & 26

This week we are talking about our bodies.  We have heard the term "your body is a temple," well now are going to talk about what that means.

  • October 30 & November 2

We are going to look at 1 Samuel 16:7 and Matthew 23:25-26 to gain some insight into what the Bible says about Appearance.

  • November 4

Rob is putting together a benefit concert/ hymn sing-along to raise money to help us pay for our adoption. There will be snacks and deserts and it will be held in The Zone at 6:30 p.m. Come help us “Bring Her Home.”

  • November 6 & 9

This week we are going out on a limb… I’m going to be talking about Politics. As we are in the midst of a new Presidential election, it seems fitting to talk about God’s political affiliation and agenda. This is going to be interesting.

  • November 13 & 16

Next week is Thanksgiving, so this week we are going to be looking at thankfulness. So often we take for granted the things that God has blessed us with. We are going to look at Colossians 2:6-7; Ephesians 5:20; and 1 Chronicles 16:34 for reminders of why we should be thankful.

  • November 20 & 23

There is no Youth Group this week due to Thanksgiving.  With all the turmoil happening in our lives, take this opportunity to spend time with loved ones and friends.  Be thankful that you people in your life that you care about and a God that loves you unconditionally.

  • November 27 & 30

We are going to do things a little different this week. We have been talking about how to get more out of reading the Bible. This week, we’re going to talk about a few tips on how to study the Bible on your own.

  • December 2, 3, & 4

Christmas celebrations start with a Percussion Christmas Celebration; "Little Drummer Boy."  This event will take place at Delta Christian Church.  Showings will be Friday @ 6:30, Saturday @ 3:00 & 6:30, and Sunday @ 3:00.  The cost is free, so bring some family and/or friends and enjoy a time of Christmas music... to the beat of a different drum!

  • DECEMBER 4 & 7

It’s time for the annual Youth Group Christmas Parties. We will have some snacks and drinks so bring a $10-15 wrapped gift (with no name on it). We will play a gift exchange game and have some laughs! Oh, and feel free to bring a friend (with a gift), too! If you can’t afford a gift, it’s no big deal. Just let me know and I’ll make sure there is one here for you so you can still play. Whatever you do, don’t stay home because you can’t bring a gift… I want everyone who wants to come to be here!!

Join Melissa McCormick as she heads up a sewing event to make dresses for little girls in Africa.  Sewing starts @ 10:00 and she hopes to be done by 3:00.  She would like to know how many are coming, so please contact me and let me know so I can pass along the info.

  • January 1 & 4

We have been talking about studying the Bible on your own and over the next few weeks we're going to be talking a little bit more about how you can get "IN" to the Bible as you read it.  This week we are talking about some of the culture from the Old Testament times.  Mostly we'll look at some architecture to help you see what life was like and talk about the "why's" of some of the sacrifices and offerings.

  • January 8 & 11

This week is a special treat.  Kim will be talking about her mission experiences and how we are called to care for the orphans and widows.  We'll also discuss our High School (and current 8th graders) International Mission trip for this summer.

  • January 15 & 18

Back to culture.  This week we will take a look at some of the customs and life of the early New Testament times.  The goal is to make it easier for us to connect with the Bible while doing our own Bible study.

  • January 22 & 25

More about the Bible!  Instead of visual aids, this week will focus on some of the Common Phrases from the Bible to help us understand the text a little better.

  • January 29 & February 1

After all the background info, we're going to put it in to practice.  This week we will break up in to small groups and you'll get a passage out of the Bible.  It will be up to your group to discuss that passage and see what you can learn from it.  There are no right or wrong answers, it's just a learning experience.

  • February 5 & 8

Valentine’s Day is coming, so we’re going to talk a little about angels. I’m not talking about the cute little Cupids that we envision with the harps floating on clouds, but I’m talking about the angels we hear about in the Bible that most of the time warrant a human response of “and they were afraid.”

  • February 12 & 15

This week we are talking about God’s love and that what really means. I’m sure most of you have heard countless messages or encouragement about the love of God, but I want to remind you of it again (maybe in a different way) before we move on to examples of how God loves us in the following weeks.

  • February 19, 20 & 22

We will not be having Youth Group this week because there is no school.  However, we are planning a skiing/boarding trip to Powderhorn on Monday, the 20th.  With the group rate we get 20% off rentals and lift tickets. I’ll need to have a solid count of who wants to go no later than the 13th so I can get our order in (earlier is better!).  So, let me know if you want to go or if you have any question

  • February 26

This is another "Student Sunday." Today, the students are taking over the Sunday morning church service. Students are taking over the worship stage to lead the congregation in some worship songs and then we’ll have a few students share about their spiritual journey. They will share who and what has been influential in their lives. It’s going to be a great day, make sure you invite your family and friends to come take part in this great service.

  • FEBRUARY 26 & March 1

The book of Job… if there was ever an example of faithfulness and trust in God and his unending love for us it is in the book of Job. This will be a great time to analyze a story about trusting in God and how He is faithful to us.

  • March 5 & 8

This week we are going to look at the life of Paul… who he was, what he did, and how God used him. I especially love the back story of Paul and his ministry so I am excited for this week.

  • March 11

Today the Youth Group will be serving dinner at The Abraham Connection homeless shelter. We are only taking a limited amount of people, so only the first 8 students to volunteer will be able to go (this time). If you want to go, please let me know personally as I build a list of volunteers.

  • March 12 & 15

Kim is sharing about one of her favorite characters in the Bible, Esther. This will be a great discussion as we look at another example of how God used an unlikely woman to change history.

  • March 19 & 22

David was said to be a man after God’s own heart. This week Rob will look at the life of David and pull out some lessons that we can apply to our own lives.

  • March 26 & 29

John the Baptist has an interesting start to life and we get to discuss what that looked like and also, how God used him to tell about the Messiah.

  • April 2 & 5

Don is going to be sharing about Barnabas this Sunday. I’ll take over on Wednesday and try to mirror his discussion.

  • April 9-15

No Youth Group this week because of Spring Break.

  • April 16 & 19

Plan to join us on Easter Sunday at DCC. Our morning service starts at 10:00… we would love to have you. Also, because Sunday is Easter, we will not be having Youth Group this week. Spend the week enjoying time with family and planning for the summer.

  • April 2 & 26

“Knowing Jesus” This week we are going to talk about what it looks like to know Jesus. Maybe you’ve been listening to me ramble on about Jesus, but you don’t have a relationship with Him. Well, we’re going to talk about that this week. This might be a good opportunity to bring a friend that might not have a personal relationship with our Creator.

  • April 30 & May 3

Maybe you DO know Jesus, but haven’t been baptized yet. We are going to talk about baptism: what it means, what you can do, and what it is supposed to, or could look like. Baptism is an important part of your walk with Christ and we are going to finish off this year with a discussion about what that is.

  • may 7 & may 10

HIGH SCHOOL (May 7):  This week is our last regular Youth Group week.  We will still meet at regular time, but we are going to take the time to celebrate with our Graduating Seniors.  We’ll have plenty of food (burgers, salads, chips, etc.) and play some games.  If you can bring a couple dollars to help pay for food that would be great… if not, don’t worry about it, just come and enjoy some food and fun!

MIDDLE SCHOOL (May 10):  This week is our last regular Youth Group week.  We will still meet at regular time, but we are going to take the time to kick off Summer a couple weeks early.  We’ll have plenty of food (bratwurst, salads, chips, etc.) and play some games.  If you can bring a couple dollars to help pay for food that would be great… if not, don’t worry about it, just come and enjoy some food and fun as we get ready to finish up the school year!
